SHADE is Marcello Saracino’s brainchild. With this project he plays his originals which are inspired by contemporary Jazz artists combined with Pop/Rock influences. SHADE’s music conveys an atmosphere reminiscent of the Scandinavian musical landscapes and the deriving mood is of gloomy nostalgia and alienation with a sour contrast of bright hopefulness. Guitar is the protagonist in this music, with haunting arpeggi or quasi-minimalistic rhythmically shifting riffs. The band’s main focus is on portraying a vibe of unpredictability and of high interplay, questioning the dogmas of groove and form and at the same time defying the stigmas of style and genre.
